Bellville library closed due to cable theft

The City’s Library and Information Services would like to inform residents that the Bellville Library is temporarily closed as a result of cable theft.

The City’s Library and Information Services would like to inform residents that the Bellville Library is temporarily closed as a result of cable theft.
 
The closure took effect yesterday, 29 December 2025, and will be in place until 11 January 2026.
 
The building is without electricity supply – work is under way to replace the cables and render the facility safe for use. 
 
Patrons are kindly requested to make use of libraries in the surrounding areas, including Tygervalley, Brackenfell, Kraaifontein, Durbanville and Parow.
 
The City of Cape Town apologises for any inconvenience caused.
